Historic AccomplishmentsCreated and delivered education and public awareness programs to over 10,000 individuals to promote health awareness issues and social change for HIV/AIDS and related illnesses. Continuous long-terms partnerships with over 40 churches involved in HIV/AIDS awareness programs and initiatives including providing counseling, food clothing, emergency shelter, and financial support for programs and services. Partnerships with Balm of Gilead provided over 3,000 individuals with free hepatitis C testing, educational and medical workshops, and printed materials in eight states for African and Ethiopian communities. Developed partnerships with regional social service agencies to provide HIV/AIDS testing and screening for multi-cultural Hispanic communities, as well as provide translated materials into other languages, serving over 2,000 individuals, their families and friends. Introduced “It’s Your Choice!” youth forum for middle and high school students openly discussing teen topics about life choices, peer relationships, dating and healthy lifestyles, reaching 600 youth in is first year, empowering youth to make healthy lifestyle choices. |
